Bridgestone Upgrades Its Retail Network in East Java

Madiun – The role of a tire shop is changing as vehicle owners increasingly look beyond tire replacement when maintaining their cars. Bridgestone Indonesia is responding to that shift by upgrading its retail network into facilities designed to provide a broader range of automotive services under one roof.

One example is Masuka Tires in Madiun, East Java, which has officially been transformed from a conventional TOMO outlet into TOMO Signature Masuka Tires. The outlet, located on Jalan Urip Sumoharjo No. 18, is the first TOMO Signature facility in East Java and represents a new stage in the partnership between Bridgestone Indonesia and the local retailer.

The transformation also reflects a partnership that has developed over more than a decade. Previously known as Maju Putra Ban, the business has worked with Bridgestone Indonesia for more than ten years before taking on the TOMO Signature format.

For Bridgestone, the upgrade is not simply about changing the appearance or identity of a retail outlet. The company is positioning the TOMO Signature concept around a more comprehensive customer experience, combining tire products with vehicle maintenance and technical services.

“Product quality must always be balanced with excellent service standards. Experience and customer experience are our top priorities,” said Mukiat Sutikno, President Director of Bridgestone Indonesia.

According to Mukiat, the TOMO Signature Masuka Tires facility is intended to make comprehensive vehicle maintenance more accessible to customers in East Java while ensuring that services are handled by professional technicians.

That approach is reflected in the facility itself. Built on an area of around 1,300 square meters, the Madiun outlet offers a one-stop service concept covering several vehicle maintenance requirements rather than focusing solely on tire sales.

The outlet provides Bridgestone tires supplied through the official manufacturer network, alongside vehicle repair and maintenance facilities. Customers can also receive assistance from sales advisors and technicians certified through the Bridgestone Indonesia Education Center, or BINEC.

One of the facility’s key pieces of equipment is a 3D wheel alignment machine. The technology is designed to help technicians carry out wheel alignment with greater precision, an important part of vehicle maintenance that can affect handling, tire wear and driving stability.

The emphasis on wheel alignment also illustrates how modern tire retail is becoming more technical. Rather than simply installing new tires, specialized equipment and trained personnel allow retailers to address other factors that influence how a vehicle performs and how its tires wear over time.

The one-stop concept extends beyond tire and alignment services. The outlet also provides maintenance-related services such as balancing, brake cleaning, oil changes and tune-up packages.

This broader service approach can be particularly relevant for regional markets, where customers may prefer to handle several routine maintenance requirements during a single visit. For a retail network, it also creates an opportunity to develop longer-term relationships with customers rather than relying only on periodic tire purchases.

Bridgestone Indonesia has also linked the TOMO Signature concept to customer confidence through its tire replacement warranty program. Customers purchasing Bridgestone tires at the outlet are eligible for a new tire replacement guarantee if the tire suffers damage during road use, including punctures, bulging or tearing, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

The company introduced the upgraded outlet with reopening promotions running through September 19, 2026. These included discounts on wheel alignment, balancing and brake cleaner packages, along with selected oil and brake-service offers.

While promotional programs can attract customers during the reopening period, the longer-term significance of the Madiun outlet lies in the service model behind the TOMO Signature format. Bridgestone is effectively using its retail network to bring products, technical expertise, equipment and after-sales support closer to vehicle owners outside Indonesia’s largest metropolitan areas.

The opening of the first TOMO Signature in East Java therefore gives the Madiun market a new type of automotive service destination while also providing Bridgestone with a platform to strengthen its regional retail presence.

As vehicle technology and maintenance requirements continue to evolve, tire retailers are increasingly becoming part of a wider automotive service ecosystem. The transformation of Masuka Tires shows how that shift can take place at the local level, turning a traditional tire outlet into a more comprehensive destination for vehicle care.
