Beyond Motorcycles: How Honda Indonesia Engages Youth in Sustainability

Bogor – PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) brought environmental awareness activities to younger audiences through Green Act Fest 2026 in Bogor, West Java, on October 31. The event encouraged participants to adopt more sustainable habits, including responsible waste management and reusing items that remain in good condition.

Held at Warkopolim, the event carried the theme “Stand Up for The Earth.” It formed part of AHM’s Sinergi Bagi Negeri campaign, which promotes community participation in environmental activities.

Green Act Fest combined waste collection, clothing donations, entertainment, and riding safety education. Through these activities, AHM introduced several ways for participants to incorporate environmental awareness into their daily routines.

Green Act Fest Focuses on Electronic Waste

One of the event’s main activities was the E-Waste Rescue Station, organized in collaboration with Trash Ranger Indonesia. The station collected electronic waste for appropriate handling and management.

Through the Drop, Sort, & Impact process, participants learned to identify different types of electronic waste. They also received information about the importance of proper disposal to reduce the environmental risks associated with discarded electronic products.

Electronic waste requires appropriate handling because it can contain materials that need specialized treatment. Therefore, collection and sorting are important steps in managing discarded devices.

AHM also invited participants to donate clothes that remain suitable for use. The company planned to distribute these items to people in need. This initiative encouraged reuse and aimed to reduce potential textile waste.

Together, the activities addressed two everyday sources of waste. They also gave participants practical ways to take part in environmental initiatives.

Comedy Brings Environmental Messages to Young Audiences

Green Act Fest also used entertainment to communicate its environmental message. In collaboration with the Stand Up Indo community, the event featured 10 comedians who presented environmental themes through stand-up comedy.

Meanwhile, performer Duto Triadjie closed the event with a special performance. The entertainment program formed part of AHM’s approach to engaging younger audiences through activities familiar to them.

According to AHM General Manager of Corporate Communication Rina Listiani, environmental responsibility can begin with simple habits practiced consistently.

She highlighted waste sorting, proper electronic waste management, and extending the useful life of products that remain in good condition. AHM hopes these habits will encourage more people to participate in environmental activities.

Honda Combines Riding Safety With Environmental Awareness

The sustainability theme also extended to motorcycle use. Through an activity called Berpacu dalam Sinergi, AHM invited media representatives and members of its ESG community to experience riding activities before attending Green Act Fest.

The program was organized with PT Daya Adicipta Motora, Honda’s main dealer in West Java. Participants rode the New Honda Vario Evo 160 and took part in braking technique practice.

The activity introduced participants to vehicle readiness and riding safety. It also connected responsible mobility with the wider environmental theme of the event.

AHM said responsible mobility involves technology, choosing vehicles according to individual needs, regular maintenance, and responsible riding behavior.

The riding activity and Green Act Fest offered different approaches to the same broader theme. One focused on motorcycle use and safety, while the other addressed waste management and environmental participation.

Part of AHM’s Sinergi Bagi Negeri Campaign

Green Act Fest 2026 formed part of AHM’s wider Sinergi Bagi Negeri campaign. The initiative encourages young people to combine daily activities with greater environmental awareness.

The program also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly climate action and the protection and restoration of terrestrial ecosystems.

However, the information provided does not specify the total amount of electronic waste collected or the number of clothing donations received. These figures would help measure the direct results of the event.

For now, Green Act Fest demonstrates how AHM combines environmental education, community activities, entertainment, and riding safety initiatives in one program.
