Jakarta – Daihatsu’s Q3 sales in Indonesia reached 37,167 retail units from July to September 2026. The result represents a 10 percent increase from the 33,618 units recorded during the same period in 2025.
Behind that growth, three model groups accounted for around 90 percent of Daihatsu’s retail sales. The Gran Max Series, Daihatsu’s LCGC models, and the Terios each serve different roles in the Indonesian automotive market.
The sales mix provides a look at the varied mobility requirements of Indonesian consumers. Commercial vehicles remain important for business activities, while affordable passenger cars and SUVs continue to support family mobility.
Gran Max Remains Daihatsu’s Largest Sales Contributor
The Gran Max Series was the biggest contributor to Daihatsu’s Q3 2026 retail sales. The model recorded 19,082 units during the three-month period, an 11 percent increase from the 17,148 units sold in Q3 2025.
Gran Max accounted for around 51 percent of Daihatsu’s total retail sales during the quarter. Its contribution highlights the continuing role of light commercial vehicles in supporting business and daily transportation needs.
The model’s performance also played a major role in Daihatsu’s overall 10 percent sales growth during the quarter.
In September alone, the Gran Max Series recorded 6,489 units. That figure was 5 percent higher than the same month a year earlier and represented 53 percent of Daihatsu’s total monthly retail sales.
The results show how strongly commercial mobility contributed to Daihatsu’s sales performance during the third quarter.
Ayla and Sigra Represent the LCGC Market
The second major contributor came from Daihatsu’s LCGC lineup, consisting of the Ayla and Sigra. Combined sales reached 11,023 units in Q3 2026, increasing 9 percent from 10,101 units during Q3 2025.
Together, the two LCGC models contributed around 30 percent of Daihatsu’s total retail sales during the quarter.
The performance places Ayla and Sigra alongside Gran Max as key volume contributors. While Gran Max is closely associated with commercial use, the LCGC models serve a different part of the market with their focus on everyday passenger mobility.
The trend continued in September. Ayla and Sigra recorded combined sales of 3,494 units, representing a 10 percent increase from the same period in 2025.
Their contribution illustrates the importance of affordable passenger vehicles within Indonesia’s automotive market.
Terios Adds an SUV Dimension to Daihatsu’s Sales
The Terios provided another important component of Daihatsu’s Q3 performance. The SUV recorded 3,847 units during the quarter, up 6 percent from the 3,633 units recorded in Q3 2025.
Terios contributed approximately 10 percent of Daihatsu’s total retail sales during Q3 2026.
Its September performance was stronger than its quarterly growth rate. Terios sales reached 1,293 units during the month, an increase of 12 percent compared with September 2025.
The figures give Daihatsu another source of sales beyond its commercial and LCGC models. The Terios serves consumers looking for an SUV-oriented vehicle while remaining part of Daihatsu’s broader passenger-car portfolio.
Three Model Groups Reflect Different Mobility Needs
The combined performance of Gran Max, Ayla-Sigra, and Terios shows how different vehicle categories contribute to Daihatsu’s business in Indonesia.
Gran Max dominated the sales mix with a 51 percent contribution, reflecting the importance of vehicles used for business and commercial activities. Meanwhile, Ayla and Sigra accounted for around 30 percent, highlighting demand for LCGC passenger vehicles.
Terios added another 10 percent through the SUV segment.
Together, the three model groups represented around 90 percent of Daihatsu’s Q3 2026 retail sales. Their different positions in the market also demonstrate that the company’s sales performance is not dependent on a single type of vehicle.
Marketing Director & Corporate Function Director of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, Rokky Irvayandi, said the company’s sales trend increased during the three months through September.
He attributed the performance to the variety of mobility needs among Indonesian consumers, covering both family activities and business purposes.
September Provides Another Sign of Sales Growth
Daihatsu’s monthly performance also contributed to the broader Q3 result. In September 2026, the company recorded retail sales of 12,317 units, an 8 percent increase compared with September 2025.
The same three model groups remained the main contributors during the month.
Gran Max recorded 6,489 units, followed by the combined 3,494 units from Ayla and Sigra. Terios added another 1,293 units.
The figures show that the sales structure seen throughout Q3 remained visible in September, with commercial vehicles, LCGCs, and SUVs continuing to represent different parts of Daihatsu’s customer base.
After-Sales Support Remains Part of the Ownership Cycle
Daihatsu also continues to emphasize after-sales support during the vehicle ownership period. The company points to its broad after-sales network, Daihatsu Mobile Service, and the availability of spare parts as part of its customer support approach.
For customers using vehicles for both business and family activities, after-sales access can form an important part of the ownership cycle.
Daihatsu’s Q3 2026 sales performance ultimately reflects a combination of these different mobility requirements. Gran Max led the numbers, while Ayla, Sigra, and Terios added significant contributions from the LCGC and SUV segments.
With 37,167 retail units sold during Q3, Daihatsu entered the final quarter of 2026 after recording stronger sales than during the same period a year earlier. The model mix also shows how commercial vehicles, affordable passenger cars, and SUVs continue to occupy distinct roles within Indonesia’s automotive market.
