Lombok – VinFast is expanding its presence in Indonesia as the Vietnamese automaker continues to develop its dealership network and electric vehicle lineup. Its latest move brings the brand to Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, where it has opened its first official dealership in the province.
The new outlet brings VinFast’s nationwide dealership network to 41 locations. It also reflects the company’s efforts to reach consumers beyond major automotive markets and metropolitan areas.
For VinFast, expanding its retail presence is an important part of building its business in Indonesia. Consumers need more than access to vehicles. They also need convenient sales services, maintenance facilities, and spare parts support.
VinFast Expands Its Dealership Network Across Indonesia
VinFast Lombok is located at Jalan Sandubaya No. 29, Bertais, Mataram. The dealership covers approximately 379 square meters across two floors, with each floor measuring around 189 square meters.
The facility integrates vehicle sales, servicing, and spare parts. This arrangement gives customers in Lombok and surrounding areas access to several essential ownership services at one location.
Previously, customers outside established automotive markets could face additional challenges when accessing a brand’s official services. A local dealership can help reduce that distance and make vehicle ownership more convenient.
Randi Ang, Director of PT Cakraniaga Kencana, said the opening aims to expand access to electric vehicles in West Nusa Tenggara.
He also highlighted Lombok’s importance as a tourism destination and a growing center for economic activity. These factors contribute to mobility needs among residents, businesses, and visitors.
The dealership expansion also supports VinFast’s broader distribution strategy. In 2025, the company announced plans to expand its Indonesian retail network through partnerships with new and existing dealers. The plan outlined a target of 85 showrooms nationwide by the end of 2026.
The opening in Lombok represents another step in that expansion, although the actual pace of growth will depend on the rollout of individual outlets.
Five VinFast Electric Vehicle Models Available in Lombok
VinFast Lombok offers access to five models: the VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, and VF MPV 7.
This lineup covers several vehicle categories, allowing customers to consider different sizes and configurations based on their needs.
The VF 3 serves as a compact electric vehicle for everyday urban mobility. The VF 5 provides another option for drivers looking for a small electric vehicle.
Meanwhile, the VF 6 and VF 7 offer electric SUV options in different size categories. These models may appeal to customers who need additional cabin space and a more versatile vehicle.
The VF MPV 7 completes the lineup with a seven-seat configuration designed for family use.
By presenting several models through one dealership, VinFast can introduce customers to different electric vehicle formats. Buyers can also discuss vehicle specifications, ownership options, and after-sales support with the local team.
However, access to a dealership does not automatically indicate strong sales demand. Consumer interest, pricing, charging access, and ownership costs will all influence how these vehicles perform in the local market.
After-Sales Services Remain Important for EV Growth
Expanding a dealership network involves more than increasing the number of showrooms. Service availability also plays an important role in building customer confidence.
VinFast Lombok combines sales, servicing, and spare parts facilities under one roof. This gives customers a local point of contact for vehicle maintenance and other ownership needs.
For electric vehicles, reliable after-sales support can influence purchasing decisions. Buyers may want clear information about scheduled maintenance, warranty coverage, spare parts availability, and repair procedures before switching from conventional vehicles.
A dealership in Mataram can make these services more accessible to residents of Lombok and nearby areas. It also gives prospective customers an opportunity to learn about VinFast vehicles directly.
Arunodoy Das, CEO of VinFast Indonesia, said the new dealership reflects the company’s commitment to bringing electric mobility closer to consumers across the country.
The company expects its expanding network to improve access to its products, services, and ownership solutions in West Nusa Tenggara.
VinFast’s Expansion Extends Beyond Major Cities
VinFast’s presence in Indonesia includes a growing range of electric vehicles and a local manufacturing operation in Subang, West Java. In May 2026, the company announced that the VF MPV 7 had begun rolling off its Subang production line.
Local production and retail expansion represent different parts of the company’s broader strategy. Manufacturing supports its local industrial presence, while dealerships help connect products and services with customers.
The expansion into Lombok also demonstrates the importance of reaching markets outside Indonesia’s largest urban centers. Regional customers have different mobility requirements, and access to official service facilities can affect their willingness to consider an electric vehicle.
Nevertheless, broader availability is only one part of electric vehicle adoption. Charging infrastructure, vehicle prices, financing options, and public familiarity with EV technology remain important considerations.
VinFast’s ability to build a sustainable presence in Indonesia will therefore depend on more than its dealership count. The company will also need to convert wider access into customer interest, vehicle sales, and a consistent ownership experience.
What Comes Next for VinFast in Indonesia?
With 41 dealerships nationwide, VinFast is continuing to establish its retail presence in Indonesia. The opening in Lombok adds another regional market to its network and gives consumers access to five electric vehicle models.
The next challenge will be turning this wider reach into sustained demand. Customers will assess the vehicles themselves, but they will also consider charging convenience, ownership costs, and the quality of after-sales support.
For now, the Lombok dealership marks another step in VinFast’s expansion beyond major metropolitan areas. Its longer-term progress will depend on how effectively the company serves customers across Indonesia’s diverse regional markets.
