Bekasi – GAC Indonesia has introduced the AION UT Urban, a new variant of its electric hatchback with additional comfort and convenience features. The company presented the model during the First Preview AION UT Urban at Indomobil Expo 2026, held at Summarecon Mall Bekasi from October 13 to 18, 2026.

The AION UT Urban builds on the AION UT Standard. It adds synthetic leather upholstery, a synthetic leather-wrapped steering wheel, an electric driver seat, and an electric power tailgate. These features target drivers who use their cars for daily activities in urban areas.

The Urban variant carries an on-the-road (OTR) price of Rp363 million in Jakarta. It sits between the Standard and Premium variants in the AION UT lineup.

GAC AION UT Urban Adds Four Convenience Features

The AION UT Urban introduces several updates to the cabin and luggage area. Synthetic leather upholstery gives the interior a different finish. The steering wheel also uses synthetic leather to match the updated cabin.

An electric driver seat allows drivers to adjust their seating position using powered controls. This feature can make it easier to find a comfortable position before or during daily commutes.

The electric power tailgate adds convenience when loading or unloading luggage. Drivers can open and close the tailgate electronically, which can help when carrying shopping bags, work equipment, or other items.

Together, these features distinguish the Urban variant from the Standard model. They also focus on practical functions that drivers can use regularly, rather than changes to the car’s overall body style.

GAC Indonesia’s Product Planning and Strategy representative, Iqbal Taufiqurrahman, said the company considers comfort and convenience important parts of the everyday driving experience. He added that the Urban variant reflects the company’s effort to respond to consumer needs.

AION UT Urban Sits Between Standard and Premium

GAC Indonesia offers three AION UT variants in Jakarta. The Standard starts at Rp345 million, while the Urban costs Rp363 million. The Premium sits at the top of the range at Rp395 million.

The Urban therefore costs Rp18 million more than the Standard. Its price remains Rp32 million below the Premium.

The price difference gives buyers another option when comparing features and budgets. Customers can consider whether the Urban’s added comfort equipment suits their daily needs.

The AION UT retains its compact hatchback format for urban use. Its size and body style place it among the electric cars aimed at drivers who need a vehicle for commuting, shopping, and other routine journeys.

GAC Indonesia also lists five color options for the Urban: Emerald Green, Almond Beige, Emerald Green Two Tone, Lunar White, Moonstone Silver, and Urban Black. The company notes that availability depends on stock.

Special Pricing During Indomobil Expo 2026

GAC Indonesia is offering special prices for the AION UT range during Indomobil Expo 2026, which runs from October 13 to 18 at Summarecon Mall Bekasi.

Under the promotion, the AION UT Standard costs Rp312 million, down from its regular price of Rp345 million. The Urban receives a special price of Rp345 million, compared with its regular Rp363 million price. Meanwhile, the Premium costs Rp372 million, down from Rp395 million.

The Urban’s promotional price matches the regular listed price of the Standard variant. However, the offer applies during the exhibition period, so buyers should confirm the terms and vehicle availability with the dealer.

Visitors can see the AION UT Urban at the event and ask GAC Indonesia representatives about its features, pricing, and available offers. The exhibition also provides an opportunity to compare the Urban with other models in the company’s lineup.

AION UT’s Position in Indonesia’s Electric Car Market

GAC Indonesia also points to the AION UT’s sales performance in the local market. According to the company, the model recorded the highest wholesale sales in Indonesia’s medium electric hatchback segment in September 2026, based on data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO).

Wholesale figures refer to vehicle deliveries from manufacturers to dealers. They do not necessarily represent the number of vehicles purchased by end customers.

The AION UT Urban adds another option to this lineup through its focus on interior comfort and easier daily operation. Its new features may appeal to buyers who place value on powered seat adjustment and a powered tailgate.

However, the model’s position in the market will also depend on factors such as price, driving range, charging access, and after-sales support. Buyers should compare the complete specifications of each variant before making a decision.

With the AION UT Urban, GAC Indonesia expands its electric hatchback range without changing the model’s basic urban-focused character. The new variant gives customers another choice, with additional convenience features and a price positioned between the Standard and Premium models.
