Jakarta – Toyota has made the Kijang Innova Zenix more connected with the introduction of T Intouch with Toyota Remote. The updated service allows owners to control selected vehicle functions and monitor their car through a smartphone, extending the ownership experience beyond the driver’s seat.
Introduced by PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) on October 21, 2026, the latest connectivity upgrade makes its debut on the Kijang Innova Zenix Improvement 2026 in Indonesia. The system focuses on three areas: convenience, safety and security, and vehicle assistance.
Toyota Innova Zenix Can Be Controlled Through a Smartphone
The main highlight is the Remote Control function. Depending on the vehicle’s specifications, owners can start the engine, adjust the air-conditioning temperature, and lock the doors remotely using their smartphones.
These functions can be useful before a journey, particularly when owners want to prepare the cabin temperature before entering the vehicle. Remote door locking also offers an additional layer of convenience when checking the car after leaving it parked.
The service expands Toyota’s existing telematics offering by connecting more vehicle functions with the owner’s smartphone. However, the availability of individual features depends on the vehicle’s specifications and the supported service configuration.
Real-Time Vehicle Status and Driving Information
Beyond remote controls, T Intouch with Toyota Remote provides information about the vehicle’s condition. The Vehicle Status function allows owners to check the status of the doors, windows, hood, and lights in real time.
The Dashboard Status feature displays key information, including the odometer reading, fuel level, and average fuel consumption. Owners can also access Trip History to review previous journeys, while Statistical Driving Data provides information about driving distance and duration over time.
These features give owners a clearer picture of how the vehicle is being used, whether for daily commuting, family trips, or longer journeys.
For households that share a vehicle among several drivers, having access to driving information and vehicle status through a smartphone may also make day-to-day vehicle management easier.
Safety, Security, and Emergency Assistance
Toyota has also expanded the service’s safety and assistance functions. Driver Monitor helps owners monitor driver activity and vehicle usage, complementing other connected services designed to support vehicle security.
These include Find My Car, Geofencing, Time Fencing, Guest Driver Alert, Speed & Idle Alert, Stolen Vehicle Tracking, and Remote Immobilizer.
The available functions cover different needs, from locating a parked vehicle to receiving alerts related to its use. Remote Immobilizer is intended to help prevent a stolen vehicle from being started, subject to the system’s operating conditions.
For vehicle assistance, E-Care provides alerts related to vehicle health. The In-Car SOS Button allows occupants to contact Toyota Customer Care or access Emergency Roadside Assistance when help is needed.
Toyota also offers a Proactive Agent Call function. When the system detects a potential vehicle issue, Toyota can contact the customer to provide further assistance.
Together, these services aim to support owners before, during, and after their journeys rather than limiting connectivity to entertainment or navigation features.
Three Years of Free Subscription
Toyota is providing a three-year subscription to T Intouch with Toyota Remote at no additional subscription cost with purchases of the Kijang Innova Zenix Improvement 2026. The service’s introduction was announced at Toyota Connected Space, held at Kota Kasablanka Mall in Jakarta from October 21 to 25, 2026.
The model also receives several updates beyond its connected-car technology. The hybrid variants feature a 12.3-inch TFT Multi-Information Display, while the range gains a V HEV grade. Toyota has also introduced a new nickel-based lithium-ion battery for the Hybrid EV version.
The Innova Zenix continues to offer both gasoline and hybrid powertrain options, giving Indonesian buyers alternatives based on their driving needs and preferences.
A More Connected Family MPV
The latest update does not focus on a dramatic exterior redesign. Instead, Toyota is placing greater emphasis on the digital experience surrounding the vehicle.
Remote engine starting, air-conditioning control, real-time vehicle status, driving data, and assistance services give the Innova Zenix a broader connected-car offering. For family-oriented buyers, these features could make everyday vehicle ownership more convenient while providing additional tools for monitoring and assistance.
The introduction of T Intouch with Toyota Remote also reflects the growing role of smartphone connectivity in the automotive market. As vehicles become more digitally integrated, the ownership experience increasingly extends beyond the features available inside the cabin.
For the 2026 Kijang Innova Zenix Improvement, Toyota’s latest connected-car upgrade is a practical step in that direction.
